What I love about catering is hearing the customer say “I am absolutely thrilled with my event and everything was perfect”. At the end of a long day that is definitely what I want to hear.
My biggest accomplishment is starting MBP and surviving for over 30 years. It never ceases to amaze me. One of my favorite things to do is create new ideas and stay abreast of the current trends. Just because we have been in business for over 30 years certainly does not mean that we are set in our ways.
I am amazed with my staff. The busier we are the better they are. On our busiest days they all bond together as a team to get the job done. You can actually see the excitement. They arrive motivated and leave satisfied and possibly a little tired, but still very pleasant and excited that they did a great job. Yes, on busy days there are always obstacles to overcome. We always have a plan, but as the day progresses we might have to adjust the plan and that is what makes us great. By the end of the day I always say WOW, what a great job.
My hospitality career began at the IUPUI Union Building. We did everything including hotel, catering, concessions and cafeterias. It was quite the learning experience and I would never change a thing. Once you are hooked on the hospitality business you are always hooked. I love the excitement and the challenges. We never have two days in a row that are the same. Every day requires a new plan. That is what makes it fun and rewarding.
In my limited spare time I love to socialize with my husband and my friends. I definitely value the opportunity of having fun. And I don’t want to forget my dog Jake, who is always thrilled to see me at the end of a long day.
